	Post of new Chairman Comment from Mike Maternaghan

It is with regret that I have to inform all members of the British Residents Society and other friends in the TRNC of Alan Aldridge's resignation from his position as Chairman and committee member due to ill health.

As well as a dear friend, Alan and I have worked hard together for a number of years along with the all other committee members to bring the BRS to its position of 900 members and a strong influence in the TRNC in Government and other matters and to be of assistance to a great number of people

I hope with rest Alan will resume a normal life

We will on the committee be co-opting a person to fill the Alan's position as a committee member in the near future and a person will be put forward at the next Annual General Meeting for the position of Chairman.

In the meantime I shall continue as Vice Chairman. Should any member wish to be considered for the committee please contact me

I have with Alan's permission posted his letter of resignation to avoid any misunderstanding as to his position and health
