10/10/2007	Receiving Medicines & Tablets by Post

Members have recently been experiencing problems collecting medicines and tablets (Vitamin Pills etc) when sent from the UK by post this is because the Ministry of Health have issue instructions to the customs and post office that the import of such items has to be approved by the Ministry before the goods are released. The receiver of the products is required to visit the central pharmacy in Lefkosa with a copy of the invoice addressed to the the receiver along with proof of their identity (Passport) they check the description of the products and will then issue a certificate which enables the goods to be released.

The central pharmacy is called the İlac ve Eczacilik Dairesi and is located in central Lefkosa.

Directions

From Girne enter from Gonyeli pass the hospital on your left keep going straight until you reach the roundabout with a statue just before the one way system outside of the old town. The office is on the left opposite the Sun Exchange office but does not front onto the main road either park and walk or enter the side road which runs parallel to left of the main road..
