Amnesty on Permits

Following representations from the BRS, The Ministry of Interior and Local Administration has announced the amnesty for foreigners who are in an illegal situation with regard to their visitor, employment, residence,  and setting up business permits. The Council of Ministers has passed an Order which gives the right to all foreigners in this situation to apply for legalisation of their immigration status until 17 September 2009.

Residence

Those without permits, or with expired permits, must pay a one off fixed fine of TL1190. On payment the applicant must leave the country, return and start the process again. They can expect to be admitted on a 90 day visa and should then apply for temporary residence. The application will not be treated as  renewal.

Work permits

Those without permits, on payment of the fine of TL1190, will be allowed to remain and continue working provided they obtain work permits and sign up for social insurance and provident fund.

Those who are covered by the terms of the amnesty, but who are abroad, may be allowed to enter on payment of the fine.

Parents and children over 18 years all need to apply and pay the fine.
