Meeting with the Presidents Office

Following several requests from Mr Colin Mulcahy, Government Liaison Officer of the British Residents Society, to the Office of the President, Committee Members of the BRS were joined by two representatives of the HBPG on Tuesday 23rd March 2009 to ask for increased contact and co-operation between them and the TRNC Government.

At a meeting with Hasan Sarica, Under Secretary at The President’s Office and other officials, it was agreed that regular liaison meetings would be held to discuss matters of concern to both the Government, and the two organisations. It was also agreed that officers would be appointed in the two bodies.

The Presidency proposed that a further meeting should be held in the near future between a panel of officials, and members of the two organisations, Members will be informed once this has been arranged.

Further meetings are now taking place.
