Permanent Residence Permits

 

 

With immediate effect, permanent residents will need to undergo checks every two years.

 
NB Permanent residents aged 60 years or over will be exempt from the new checks carried out every two years.
The Immigration Department will automatically carry out a check to ensure that permanent residents aged 60 or over have been living in TRNC for at least 6 months each year. If you are over 60, you don't need to do anything.

 

1. Obtain your "Ins and outs" and police convictions record from your local police station.

2. Take them to the Immigration Office in Nicosia and get a form for a blood test

3. Get the blood test and when you have the results take them to the Immigration Office with the following documents, to the Immigration Office in Nicosia-

your title deeds or rental agreement, registered and stamped at the tax office

evidence of income and recent bank statement

If married to Turkish Cypriot, a letter from the local Muktar certifying that you are both living together.

If working, your social security payment record


 

Temporary residents can apply for permanent residence when they have 6 temporary residence stamps in their passports.


 

Work permit holders can apply after 10 work permit stamps.


 

Fee for permanent residence is is currently TL 1,000 but will rise soon (amount not announced)


 

There is no fee for the two yearly check


 

It takes ages to process!
